The phone app is for iPhone. There is no Android app.
Install and sign in

Install the app
Search for Message Companion in the App Store, or open it in the App Store. On the web, the Get the app on your phone step of the setup guide shows a QR code you can scan.

Sign in with your Companion email
Choose Continue with email, enter the address you use on the web, and choose Send code. Enter the six-digit code from your email.The welcome screen also offers Continue with Apple and Continue with Google. If you were invited by email, use Continue with email with the invited address.

Enter your two-factor code, if asked
If two-factor authentication is on for your account, enter the code from your authenticator app.

Turn on notifications
The app offers this on the Chats tab. Choose Turn on and allow notifications when your iPhone asks. See Phone notifications.
If you were invited, accept the invitation first
The app does not create your place in a workspace. You join on the web first, then sign in to the app.1
Open the invitation email
Choose Accept invitation.

Join the workspace
Continue with the email address you were invited on, enter the code you are sent, and choose the Join button.

Sign in to the app
Use that same email address.
”This account is not in a workspace yet”
You see this when you sign in to the app before accepting your invitation, or with a different email address from the one you were invited on.- Accept your invitation on the web, as above, then sign in to the app again.
- Check you are signing in with the invited address. Use Continue with email if you are not sure.
- If you have no invitation email, ask an owner or admin to invite you under Settings, then Users and teams.
