# Take bookings with a form

> Ask customers for the service, day and time they want, inside WhatsApp.

Companion takes booking requests with a form. The customer fills it in inside WhatsApp, says which service, day and time they would like, and their answers come back to you in the chat.

<Note>
  Companion does not offer free times from a calendar or add appointments to a diary by itself. **Google Calendar** is listed on the Integrations page, but connecting it does not change anything in your chats yet.
</Note>

## Set it up

<Steps>
  <Step title="Build the form">
    Go to **Templates**, choose **Create new** and pick **Template with a form**. Add the questions you need, then choose **Submit for review**. Meta has to approve it before it can be sent.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send it">
    Send it from a conversation with **Send template**, or from a workflow or a broadcast.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Read the answers">
    The customer's answers appear in the conversation. All of them are listed under **Form submissions** on the template's page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm with the customer">
    Reply in the conversation to confirm the time, and add it to your own diary.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Follow up without doing it by hand

A workflow can act when a form comes back. Use the **Form submitted** trigger, limited to your booking template if you like, and add steps such as **Notify the team**, **Assign to someone** or **Add a tag**.

On the Business plan, a form submission can also be posted to your own booking system with an outgoing webhook. See [Webhooks and custom API](/integrations/webhooks-and-custom-api).
