# Audit log

> A record of who changed what in your workspace, how to filter it, and who can see it.

<Note>Owners and admins only. The audit log is part of the Growth and Business plans, and of the free trial.</Note>

The audit log is a list of the changes made to your workspace: who did it, what they did, what it was done to, and when. Go to **Settings**, then **Audit log**.

## What it records

Each entry shows the person, the action, the thing it was done to, and the date and time. Changes made by Companion itself show as **System**. Someone who has since left shows as **Former member**.

It records changes such as:

* invitations sent, resent, revoked and accepted
* members renamed or removed, and role changes
* teams created, renamed and deleted, and people added to or removed from them
* ownership transferred
* two-factor authentication turned on or off, and devices signed out
* accounts deleted and the workspace deleted.

The newest entries are first, 50 to a page. Entries are kept for 24 months.

## Filter the log

Use the three menus above the list:

* **Action type**: Create, Update, Delete, Sign-in or Sync.
* **Actor**: one person, or System.
* **Date**: the last 7, 30 or 90 days.

The filters are part of the page address, so you can copy the address to share a filtered view with another owner or admin. Choose **Clear filters** to see everything again.

## On the Starter plan

Starter does not include the audit log, but changes are still recorded. The full history is there as soon as you move to Growth or Business. See [Plans](/billing/plans).

## Download it

You can download the audit log as a CSV file from **Settings**, **Data and legal**. See [Your data](/settings/your-data).
