# Free trial

> How the 14-day free trial works: when it starts, what it includes, and what happens when it ends.

Every new workspace gets a 14-day free trial. No card is held, and nothing is charged unless you choose a plan.

## When it starts

The 14 days start when you connect your first channel: a WhatsApp number or a website chat button. Until then nothing is counting down, so you can take your time setting up.

If your workspace was created through the Shopify app, the trial starts when you connect WhatsApp.

## What you get

The trial has everything in Growth:

* 8 seats and 5 WhatsApp numbers
* unlimited forms, workflows and integrations
* broadcasts to 5,000 contacts a month
* analytics and the audit log.

One thing is different from a paid Growth plan: website chat keeps the Companion mark until you have chosen Growth or Business and saved a card. See [Plans](/billing/plans) for the full comparison.

## Where to see the days left

Owners and admins see the days left in three places:

* at the foot of the sidebar
* on **Home**, in the **Plan and usage** card
* under **Settings**, **Billing**, which shows the date the trial ends.

## Choosing a plan during the trial

The owner can choose a plan at any time under **Settings**, **Billing**. Choosing early does not cut the trial short. You keep the days you have left, and the first payment is taken on the day the trial ends. See [Manage your plan](/billing/manage-your-plan).

## When the trial ends

If you have chosen a plan and saved a card, the first payment is taken and everything carries on.

If you have not chosen a plan:

1. For three days, everything keeps working. A banner reminds you to choose a plan.
2. After those three days, sending pauses. Your team cannot send messages or broadcasts, and workflows do not run.

While sending is paused:

* messages from customers still arrive and show in the inbox
* nothing is deleted
* you can still open settings and billing, and download your data.

Sending starts again as soon as the owner chooses a plan under **Settings**, **Billing**.
